Token Count — How Many Tokens Exist
A new Token Count page shows how many crypto tokens have been created on-chain since 2017, and how fast the number is growing.

How many crypto tokens are there? The honest answer depends on what you count, so there's now a page for it.
Token Count shows the running total of tokens created on nine blockchains since 2017, with Solana and Base behind most of the recent growth. You can switch between the total so far and new tokens per month, stacked by chain. A table lists every chain with its share and how much it added over the last 12 months.
- Compare with — lay TOTAL2, Bitcoin, ETH/BTC, Nvidia, stablecoin supply, Fear & Greed or Google Trends over the chart. One plain sentence says whether the growth of new tokens moves with it, and it says "no clear link" when there isn't one.
- Events — marks moments like the Terra and FTX collapses.
- How many are still alive? — shows how the number narrows from tokens created to tokens that still trade to the few coins that hold almost all the value.
It's a snapshot of how fast new tokens appear, not a signal or advice. The data is updated by hand, so it doesn't refresh by itself.
