The Exit Planner lets you write down, per coin, at which prices you would sell and how much. It uses the coins already in your Portfolio, adds up what your plan would bring in if every target were hit, and marks coins near or at a target, but it is a planning aid, not a forecast, and it never sells anything for you. Free members can plan up to 5 coins at a time; Premium has no coin limit.

01What is the Exit Planner?

It is a worksheet for the selling side of investing. For each coin you hold, you set sell targets: a price and an amount of coins to sell at that price. Together the targets for one coin form a plan, often called a sell ladder. Writing it down while the market is calm is the point, so the decision is not made in the middle of a rally or a crash.

The page works on the holdings in your Portfolio. Stablecoins, empty or closed positions and coins that no longer have a price feed are left out, because there is nothing to plan for them. The planner only records your plan. It does not place orders on any exchange, and logging a sale only writes a line into your own portfolio ledger.

02How do you build a plan?

Pick a coin in the list on the left, then choose one of two routes. You can apply a preset, or you can add targets one by one by typing a price and a quantity. You can edit or delete any target later, and you can set how much of the coin the plan covers (for example 100%, or less if you want to keep a part untouched).

A preset spreads the coin over four targets at fixed multiples of a starting price. You choose that starting price: today's price, or what you paid on average. Applying a preset replaces the pending targets on that coin. Sales you already logged stay.

How do you build a plan?
PresetHow it splits the coin
FreerollHalf at 2x, then 20% at 3x, 15% at 4x and 15% at 5x
DCA OutEqual quarters at 2x, 4x, 6x and 8x
Momentum30% at 4x, 30% at 7x, 25% at 10x and 15% at 15x
Ten-Bagger20% at 5x, 30% at 8x, 30% at 12x and 20% at 18x
Home Run20% at 5x, 30% at 10x, 30% at 15x and 20% at 30x

03What do the totals mean?

The overview at the top answers one question: what would my coins be worth if my targets were reached? It shows four values. Today is the current value of your coins. First targets assumes only the lowest target of each coin is filled. Half the targets assumes the lower half is filled. Every target assumes all of them are filled. A target can only fill once the price reaches it, so in each case the coins that are not sold (your moonbag, targets above that level) are counted at the highest target that fills for that coin, not at a guessed price beyond it. Coins without any target stay at today's price. Under Every target the page also shows the cautious reading with the moonbag at today's price. The page also shows the book after a 30% fall in your coins next to what you paid, and why the targets stop short of the goal.

That makes these numbers a what-if built from your own targets, not a prediction of where prices will go. Each coin in the list also shows a small bar: today's price as a share of its next pending target. A coin is marked as near its target when the price is within 5% of it, and as reached when the price is at or above it. Coins in those states move to the top of the list so nothing waiting for you gets buried. Tick "Order placed" on a target once it is a real limit order on your exchange.

If you saved a goal in My Alpha, the page also shows how much you would need and how far your plan gets you toward it. It only does the maths on the targets you chose. It does not pick coins, targets or presets for you.

04What happens when a target is hit?

Nothing happens automatically. When you actually sell a coin on your exchange, you open the target on the page and mark it as sold. You enter the amount, the price you really got, the date and what you received, either cash, USDC or USDT. The page then writes the sale into your portfolio, which updates your holdings and your realised result, and marks the target as done.

Choosing a stablecoin keeps the money inside your goal; choosing cash takes it out of the goal, unless you tick the box to keep it in. The form also shows the proceeds at your real price next to the proceeds the target had promised, so you can see the difference. See the glossary entries on taking profit and exit strategies for the general idea.

05What are the limits?

Read the page with these in mind.

Not a forecast or a signal

The multiples in the presets are templates, not predictions. Nothing here says a coin will reach a target, or that you should sell when it does.

It depends on your entries

Held amounts and cost come from the transactions in your Portfolio. If those are incomplete, the plan and the totals are off too.

Prices come from outside providers

Live prices and the near and reached marks depend on third-party price data. A coin with no price feed is left out of the planner.

It does not trade for you

No orders are placed and no exchange is connected. You sell yourself, then record it. Fees, taxes and slippage are not part of the targets.

06An example of use

A made-up example. An investor holds three coins and has never written down an exit. They apply the DCA Out preset to the biggest coin and add two targets by hand on a smaller one. The overview then shows today's value next to the value if every target is hit, and that gap is the plan in one number.

Weeks later, one coin is marked as near its first target. That is a prompt to open the plan, not an instruction to sell. The investor can follow the plan, change it or leave it, and our guides on when to sell crypto and on entry and exit strategy explain the questions worth asking before deciding.

07What is free and what is Premium?

The Exit Planner is open to members. A free member can have sell targets on up to 5 coins at the same time. Once you are at that limit, a coin without targets shows a Premium prompt instead of the planner, while coins that already have a plan stay fully editable. Premium has no coin limit. The limit is a setting the team can change, so the number can differ later. See the pricing page for Premium.

08Frequently asked questions

Does the Exit Planner sell my coins?

No. It does not connect to an exchange and never places an order. You sell yourself, then mark the target as sold so your portfolio stays correct.

Is the Exit Planner free?

Free members can plan sell targets for up to 5 coins. Premium has no coin limit. The limit is a team setting and can change, and it counts coins that have open targets.

What do the presets do?

Each preset splits one coin over four sell targets at fixed multiples of a starting price you choose: today's price or what you paid. They are templates, not predictions, and you can edit every target afterwards.

What does near target mean?

A coin is marked near when its price is within 5% of the next pending target, and reached when the price is at or above it. It is a reminder to look at your plan, not a signal to sell.

Which coins can I plan?

Coins you hold in your Portfolio. Stablecoins, closed or empty positions and coins without a price feed are left out.

Is the Exit Planner financial advice?

No. It is a planning and information tool. It does not tell you what to buy or sell, and the targets are the ones you choose yourself.
