BTC Explodes Past $76K as Whale Accumulation Hits 11-Year High—Here's What's Next for Major Alts

Bitcoin vault-jumped above $76,000 on Friday following Iran's announcement that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open throughout the US-Israel-Iran ceasefire. The move signals sustained institutional buying, but analysts are split on whether this rally has real staying power. We're tracking the technical levels that matter most for BTC, ETH, XRP, BNB, SOL, and other major cryptocurrencies as the market tests critical resistance zones.

The Bitcoin Setup: Whale Accumulation Meets Technical Resistance

Here's what grabbed our attention: BTC whales holding over 1,000 coins have accumulated approximately 270,000 BTC in the past 30 days—the most aggressive buying since 2013, according to CryptoQuant data. That's institutional conviction talking.

But here's the catch. Glassnode flagged that the recovery faces selling pressure at the True Market Mean of $78,100. For a structural shift toward a genuine bull market, buyers need to sustain prices above $78,100 on a mid-term basis. Material Indicators went further, noting that BTC must cross the yearly open at $87,500 and the 50-week moving average near $97,000, with RSI holding above 41 on the weekly timeframe to confirm bull market conditions.

The daily technicals look constructive: BTC surged above $78,000—its highest level in ten weeks—with the 20-day exponential moving average at $72,136 sloping upward and RSI approaching overbought territory. A close above $76,000 completes a bullish ascending triangle, targeting $84,000, then $92,000. Watch the moving averages on the downside; a break below them suggests bears regain control and could push BTC back toward the triangle's support line.

Ethereum, XRP, and the Altcoin Verdict

Ethereum (ETH) tested the $2,415 resistance but held above the 20-day EMA at $2,235. If ETH closes above $2,415, expect a rally toward $2,800, then $3,050—suggesting the $1,748 low was the bottom. A sharp breakdown below the moving averages, however, signals a bull trap and potential decline to $1,916.

XRP closed above the 50-day simple moving average ($1.38), indicating bears are losing grip. The 20-day EMA ($1.37) is turning upward with RSI in positive territory—classic bullish setup. The critical downtrend line of the descending channel pattern looms as formidable resistance. Break above it, and we're looking at a potential trend reversal. Support sits at $1.27 if the moving averages fail.

BNB closed above the 50-day SMA ($626), showing reduced selling pressure. Next targets: $687, then $730 and $790. If BNB rolls over from current levels and breaks below moving averages, expect consolidation within the $570-$687 range.

Solana (SOL) is pushing toward the $98 resistance with moving averages supporting the uptrend. Sellers will defend this level fiercely, but momentum remains with the bulls if technicals hold.

Dogecoin (DOGE), Cardano (ADA), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Chainlink (LINK), and Hyperliquid (HYPE) are also showing strength across the board, signaling broad-based buying by institutional and retail participants alike.

Alpha Take

Bitcoin's whale accumulation at 11-year highs combined with technical breakouts across major altcoins suggests the market is pricing in sustained risk-off sentiment relief. However, this rally requires confirmation above $78,100 to signal a structural shift—not just a bounce. Traders should monitor moving averages as dynamic support; a break below them invalidates this setup and sends the market back into consolidation mode. Position sizing matters here given the elevated technical resistance ahead.
